Oceanographers Jeffery Dean Frautschy; Robert S. (Robert Sinclair) Dietz; Roger Revelle; and K.O. (Kenneth Orris) Emery bringing in a dredge haul aboard the R/V Horizon during the Midpac Expedition (1950). This expedition involved Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the U.S. Navy which discovered the Mid-Pacific Mountain Range on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean and confirmed Darwin's theory about the origin of atolls. 1950
