Description
This photograph of Han Xianngning (b.1939) and his daughter Jackie was taken in Han’s SoHo studio. Han is a Taiwanese artist whose reputation began in NYC as a photorealist during the 1970s. Later some of his expressionistic work depicted social and political upheaval in Taiwan and Mainland China. He has houses and a studio in Dali, China where he is a central member of an important group of Chinese artists. He spends time in Dali, Taipai, and NYC.
