Description
In 1979, a huge banyan tree dominated the central plaza of Waileni village. Men would sit and chat in the shade of the tree; boys would climb to its upper branches and see trade ships offshore. Unfortunately, the banyan was uprooted and fell down in Cyclone Nigel in 1985.
