These digital images are surrogates of items from the Alfred North Correspondence and Other Documents (Box 1, Folder 1).
Includes a series of detailed letters by North on the subject of religious culture in post-Civil War Missouri, specifically, fragmentation and competition between many Protestant sects and Catholicism. North intended for his letters to be published in the Boston Recorder or the Congregationalist (North was unclear about a potential merger of the two publications.)
