Description
Irish or English manuscript recipe book. In addition to a few cooking recipes (lemon mince pies, lemon cheesecakes), the volume contains primarily recipes for home remedies such as cold cream, lavender water, "to cure the gout," "remedy for the singultus or hiccough," eye water, various colored dyes, Dr. Budd's Billious Pills, French polish, "a good pomatum," "Dr. Capon's recipe for the gout obtained by M.E. Lythall, Esqr," and the like
