Description
YES campaign: Youth support Pinochet's presidency. Security and police presence has been increased to patrol Santiago, Chile to decrease delinquency. Sports are being used to prevent youth from turning to vices like drugs and crime. A girl, Yvone, explains the benefits of having sports as an option for youth. A student named "Jose Antonio" discusses the importance of youth having educational opportunities, so that they can contribute to improving Chile. Radical Democracy Party representatives state why they support YES and demonstrate their support. Party of the South demonstrates their support of Pinochet with footage of peaceful, happy people. La Cut (a communist organization) took over industrial businesses through violence and death. Chile overcame this incident and found liberty. The NO campaign causes violence and chaos. NO campaign: Rectification of Democracy. Generals express what they want in a presidential candidate. Pinochet was chosen even though he has been in power 15 years and does not match any of the traits the generals described. Voting predictions demonstrate that Pinochet is losing in the plebiscite. Hernan Baeza (Syndicate Leader of State Bank Employees) highlights that the tower proclaiming that bank workers support YES is inaccurate. Baeza states that bank workers support NO. Doña Yolita segment showing extreme poverty. A musical performance by Schwenke y Nilo. Murals opposing censorship. Mothers of disappeared people unite and dance. Patricio Bañados reiterates NO's invitation to Pinochet to be interviewed.
