Description
Hacienda Temozon began as a cattle ranch in the 17th century, and diversified in the 18th century to cultivate corn, tobacco, and sugarcane and ultimately henequen by the late 19th century. In the 1930s the community experienced land reform and social mobilization related to post-revolutionary initiatives. In 1991 Investor, developer, and philanthropist Roberto Hernandez Ramirez purchased the property and began converting it into a luxury hotel.
