Description
Day 1 June 2, 2016 Title: A Half Dozen Eggs Artist: Clint Evangelista I performed a reenactment of Virginia Kleker's 'A Dozen Eggs' (2005). When I first saw Kleker's piece I was amazed how the artist caused a shift in my own reaction. At first, I found it hilarious to see a person egg herself, but as Kleker continued to smash egg after egg on her forehead I began to feel empathetic. She was clearly miserable as she finished the gesture. Recontextualizing this gesture, I wanted to express my frustration in the scheduled permanent closure of the UAG.
