Description
Tang Zhigang was born in Kunming, grew up in a military family, graduated from the Fine Art Institute of the People’s Liberation Army in 1989 and fought in the Chinese Vietnam War. He was in charge of political art in the army for a decade. Now he is an independent artist who playfully satirizes in a witty and humorous language the absurdity of the bureaucracy of institutional life by depicting children as military officials. The photograph was taken in Liu Xiaojin’s and Mao Xuhui's artist cafe. UC San Diego Library, UC San Diego, La Jolla, CA 92093-0175 (https://library.ucsd.edu/dc/contact)
