Description
Located in Series 6) Photographs, Photo Albums and Memorabilia subseries. Photograph album includes images of wildflowers and the landscape of the San Diego County unincorporated areas, including Palomar, Mission San Luis Ray (in Oceanside), and east county. Most of the areas are unidentified, though a few of the photographs have handwritten captions. Scenes include snow, picnicking, day-trip excursions, camping, mission ruins, American Indians, rivers, and views of the mountains and foothills. Page 33 includes a photograph of Point Loma as seen from the undeveloped south bay flats. Specific locations include Doane's Valley, Bailey's place, and the view from Smith's Hotel in the Palomar Mountain area. Most of the people in the album are unidentified, but were likely friends and associates of the Fletcher family, and they include George E. Doane (in a portrait attributed to Robert Asher), Mary Fletcher, Ed Fletcher, and some of their young children. The last page of the album is an image of Seattle, Washington.
