This digital image is a surrogate of an item from the José Villegas Collection on Mining.
Reporting mine operations, damages caused by slag, employee changes, billing transactions, payment orders, salt from Texcoco. Letter from Thomas R. Auld on arrival of 250 "pronunciados" in the mine area, with various other forces expected; three persons ("reos") removed by force from local presidio. Letters from Auld on machinery and other supplies held up in transit by government order; General Echeagaray is mentioned. Employment reference for John Noble, pitman, Tlalpujahua mining company. Notice on "numerous complaints of drunkenness and quarrelsome disorderly behaviour amongst the Englishment employed by this Company." Letter from Juan Basquez (Carcel Nacional, Pachuca) to Adrian Daste; letter to John H. Buchan from Francisco Hernandez and José María Medina.
