Description
Niu Niu was a fashion designer. She is the daughter of Liu Xiaojin, documentary film director and the step daughter of Mao Xuhui, artist. She grew up with Ye Yongqin's and Zhang Xiaogang's daughters. She completed secondary school in Dublin, Ireland and studied to be a fashion designer in Paris, France. She often spent time in Dali with her friends. This photograph was taken in her studio in Kunming while her mother was describing to her how we met in NYC. She responded playfully: "How romantic, almost a love story!" Then we all laughed. Niu Niu moved to Beijing and later committed suicide. She is remembered and loved by all who knew her.
