Description
Trinidad Robles nació en Jaén. Trinidad relata las dificultades que su familia sostuvo durante la Guerra Civil y la dictadura Franquista. Explica que su padre era izquierdista y murió trabajando en las minas. Trinidad cuenta que cuando tenía nueve años, se fueron a vivir a La Línea en Cádiz porque su madre era peluquera y viajaba cada día a Gibraltar para trabajar. Dice que su madre tuvo que esconderse porque los Fascistas la perseguían. Trinidad especifica que huyeron a Málaga y luego caminaron por la carretera de Almería. Recuerda la devastación y las muertes que vieron en la carretera. Trinidad recuenta que se refugiaron en el campo y después se fueron a Sevilla. Nota que su madre trabajó en una casa y eventualmente puso una peluquería en Sevilla. Trinidad describe el desprecio hacia los pobres y la represión ejercida contra las mujeres, detallando muchas detenciones y fusilamientos. Destaca que se hizo peluquera y enfatiza que en su peluquería ha escuchado las experiencias de otras mujeres quienes también sufrieron durante la guerra y la dictadura. Trinidad relates the difficulties her family endured during the Civil War and the Francoist dictatorship. She explains that her father was a leftist and died working in the mines. Trinidad tells that when she was nine years old they went to live in La Línea in Cádiz, because her mother was a hairdresser who traveled daily to Gibraltar for work. She remembers that her mother had to hide because the Fascists persecuted her. Trinidad notes that they fled to Málaga and then walked on the road to Almería. She retells the devastation and deaths they witnessed along the road. Trinidad recalls that they sought refuge in the country and later traveled to Sevilla. She comments that her mother worked in a house and eventually opened a salon in Sevilla. Trinidad describes the disdain toward the poor and the repression enacted against women, detailing many detentions and executions. She recounts becoming a hairdresser and emphasizes that in her salon she has listened to the experiences of other women who also suffered during the war and the dictatorship. Trinidad narrates how she met her husband in Sevilla. She highlights the improvement of their living conditions after Franco's death.
