Description
Wall Collapse -- Locus represents debris from the collapse of the western wall of the fort. Debris mixed with fill and few slags. Range of depositin ca. 3m to the east of the wall. Locus closed with a clearance of the debris. -- Represent cessation of activities of the fort, possibly also of copper production after the end of the military use of the compound. Research Data Curation Program, UC San Diego, La Jolla, 92093-0175 (https://lib.ucsd.edu/rdcp) Locus below: 154 West: western perimeter wall of the fort, East, north, south: inner sections. 2 shards of pottery and several buckets of slag. Area stratum A1a Slag probably originates in the latest smelting activity which took place after the fort was no longer opperating as such (mid 9th centurty?).
