Description
Yang Lina (1972) is an internationally acclaimed Chinese female independent documentary and feature film director. She graduated from the Art Academy of the People's Liberation Army and danced and acted in many ballets, plays and films for the PLA. Later she became an independent film director and acted in Jia Zhangke's famous film Platform (2000). Lina has ties to many important cultural groups in Beijing. Photograph was taken in front of Xiaojian's and my Brooklyn house. Lina stayed with us for two months while she had an Asia Cultural Council Fellowship.
