Description
This data includes key diagnostics calculated from output from a high resolution simulation of the ocean and sea-ice. These simulations were conducted with the Parallel Ocean Program (POP) coupled to the Community Sea-ice Model (CICE5) and forced with the Coordinated Ocean-ice Reference Experiments - Phase II Interannual Forcing (CORE-II IAF). The simulations were done for a global domain with a horizontal spacing of 8 km at the equator and 2-3 km at the poles. The data included here is a subset region in the Subpolar North Atlantic. The simulations were run from 1975-2009, depending on the experiment, but only metrics calculated based on the years 1992-1993 are included here. There are three experiments included in this data: a control run, surface melt forcing, and spread melt forcing.
T. J. Morrison, J. L. McClean, S. T. Gille, and D. P. Ivanova were funded by the DOE Office of Science Grants: DE-SC0014440 and DE-SC0020073. This research used the resources of the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC), a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science User Facility located at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, operated under Contract DE-AC02-05CH11231 using NERSC Awards: BER-ERCAP (01729, 04299, 10177, 13967, 17512, 20372, 23627) and ALCCERCAP (16316, 19007).
