Description
Dan Nhat Minh (b. 1938) is considered Vietnam’s most important film director. He made documentaries during the Vietnam War, but began directing feature films after he studied film in France. His most important feature film is When the Tenth Month Comes (1985) This photograph was taken at NYU, but the following summer Xiaojian (wife) and I spent time with him in a cafe in Hanoi.
