The Apex Nite Club was opened in 1928 by jazz drummer and bandleader Curtis Mosby on Central Avenue next to the Dunbar Hotel in the heart of the African American community in Los Angeles
Text reads: "Glad you dropped in. Hope you have a pleasant time. We will help you and you can help us by observing the 18th Amendment. Thank you!"
