Description
The ISDE modeling program centered on realistic and process-based hydrodynamics across the inner continental shelf around Pt. Sal, Central California. Simulations covered a range of temporal and spatial scales with the goal to improve regional coastal ocean predictability. This archive is a suite of one-way nested hindcast simulations conducted with the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) component of the Coupled Ocean–Atmosphere–Wave–Sediment Transport Modeling System (COAWST). The archive contains modeled surface temperature and velocity from the following simulation years: grid resolution (Y2000: 200m; Y2015: 600m, 200m, 66m, 22m; Y2017: 600m, 200m, 40m). The archive also contains daily-average files of depth-time resolved temperature, and horizontal velocities are included for Y2017: 600m, 200m, 40m, as well as a single point extraction from the associated Coupled Ocean/Atmosphere Mesoscale Prediction System (COAMPS) used for air-sea model forcing. All simulations were conducted with computational resources from Georgia Institute of Technology, Scripps Institution of Oceanography and University of Washington.
