Description
On the occasion of the raising of the Vanua’aku Pati flag in Navonda, Chief Rupert Garae wears his 'rongorongo' or ceremonial headdress that indicates that he has achieved the highest rank in the hungwe. The base of the headdress is made of woven material and small, circular shells. The arrows on top are decorated with bird feathers.
