Description
Broadside communication issued by viceroy Bucareli y Ursúa concerning measures to be taken against the production of forbidden alcoholic beverages, especially the sugar cane rum produced in Mexico known as "chinguirito." The viceroy authorizes the deputy of Spanish trade, Joseph de Echea, to squash the production of all prohibited beverages. Not satisfied with the measures taken thus far to cease the production of the prohibited beverages, Bucareli empowers Echea to appoint lieutenants and commissioners in all cities and towns where appropriate in order to achieve the total extermination of such harmful and damaging drinks.
