Description
This set of educational materials is intended to inform Geoscience researchers about the advantages of assigning identifiers, including persistent identifiers, to their datasets for purposes of the dataset being made more easily discovered, accessed, integrated with other data should that be desired or necessary, and reused. Our assumption is that a researcher informed about why an identifier can be valuable to the research workflow and the broader research community, and the kind of information required to register data with an identifier can greatly improve the efficiency and speed of the ID registration and assignment process.
This work was supported through the National Science Foundation award #1928208.
