Description
Atmospheric in situ CO2 data sets taken at La Jolla Pier, California and Mauna Loa Observatory, Hawaii. The stations LJO and MLO are active and generate ongoing data sets, which will be updated here as they become available. The data are provided after averaging at three time resolutions: daily, weekly, and monthly. These data are subject to revision based on recalibration of standard gases. Active Stations (abbreviation - location, latitude, longitude, elevation, dates of collection) LJO - La Jolla Pier, California, 2.9°N, 117.3°W, 10m, 1957 - 1962 MLO - Mauna Loa Observatory, Hawaii, 19.5°N, 155.6°W, 3397m, 1958 - present Research Data Curation Program, UC San Diego, La Jolla, 92093-0175 (https://lib.ucsd.edu/rdcp) Data Usage: The data and graphics on this website are made freely available, with the understanding that appropriate credit will be given. For applications supporting peer-reviewed scientific publications, coauthorship may sometimes be appropriate. An example would be if an important result or conclusion depends on this product, such as the first account of a previously unreported phenomenon. Ethical usage requires disclosing intentions at early stages of the work in order to avoid duplicating ongoing studies at Scripps. For applications where coauthorship is not needed, which includes all applications outside of the peer-reviewed scientific literature, it is sufficient to acknowledge the Scripps CO2 program as the source. All archives include time series that extend back to the beginning of each record. Most users will want to use the most recent archive, which contains the latest data version as well as the most up-to-date records. The data in earlier archives may have been superseded in the latest version by updates to instrument calibrations or data filtering.
