Description
NO campaign: Terrorism attacks around the world. Pinochet obstructed investigation into terrorist assassinations of three Chilean political leaders: Carlos Prats Gonzalez, Bernardo Leighton, and Orlando Letelier. Victor Manuel comments on Chile's irreversible path towards democracy. People from the provinces speak about voting for NO. Patricio Bañados pays homage to deceased poet, Pablo Neruda, by broadcasting a video of Neruda reciting his poetry. Manuel Bustos says that he feels the dedication and enthusiasm of the Chilean people and that united Chileans will win with NO. Short clip of Tucapel Jiménez speaking on behalf of the Chilean Workers Democratic Union, saying his voice was silenced but not forgotten. Ricardo Hormazabal discusses labor rights and unfair wages because of the Pinochet regime. He advocates for better legislation and restructuring of labor practices to benefit the poor. Enrique Silva Cimma talks about uncertainty in Chile. He refers to Pinochet's regime as authoritarian and says a true democracy is needed with free elections and a parliament. Patricio Bañados explains voting procedures. YES campaign: Mocks Havana, Cuba as the "capital of Happiness" with footage of Fidel Castro meeting with NO leaders: Radomiro Tomic, Pascal Allende, Jorge Lavanderos, Rafael Marotto, Luis Corvalan, and Hortensia Bussi. Mockery of the NO Platform and Florcita Motuda. Scenes from the violence during The Pope's visit and families injured by NO supporters. Footage of Patricio Bañados talking about pensions. People from Santiago talking about agriculture and farming, even though they do not live such lives. The "I Like My Country" segment highlights progress throughout Chile while also admitting shortcomings. Juan Yaconi speaks about healthcare. Revelation of False NO Testimony of copper miner, Sergio Shipley, claiming that he is poor and oppressed and a victim of labor injustice when he actually receives income from multiple sources as well as government housing and assistance.
