Description
Research data and code are fundamental to scientific review processes, claim verification, and the production of new knowledge. Increasingly, these products are viewed as first class research objects that are integral to community expectations about publishing and Open Science. It is in this context that we anticipate updates to policy and expansion of data sharing and grant reporting requirements by Federal funding agencies. A short presentation on the NSF PAR 2.0 and the Data Pilot, along with the new OSTP guidelines on “Desirable Characteristics for Repositories” set the stage for discussion with LTER Data Managers on community readiness for these emerging policy changes.
This work supported in part by the National Science Foundation award # 2032705 (EAGER).
