This photograph of Zhang Yang, film director, was taken with Xiao Baiyang, the mother of his two daughters, in the streets of Dali's new market zone which has small shops, restaurants, music bars, cafes and on week- ends a street fair where Chinese who live their life outside of the mainstream earn a living. This group interacts with Chinese musicians, writers, artists, film directors and visiting actresses who frequent this area.
