Description
Scope/Content: Manuscript cookbook apparently written by a 17th century member of the Losh family. Recipes are written in one uniform 17th century hand and are listed in an index at the end of the volume. In addition to cookery and medical recipes, there are also several recipes for inks and paints. The author is unknown but was probably a member of the Losh family of Cumbria.
Condition: Contemporary speckled calf boards, very rubbed and chipped; spine rebacked in brown leather.
