Scope/Content: Manuscript.
Scope/Content: Calligraphic copy book dated 1678 by a John Thorne, containing alphabets, command-of-hand drawings, writing exercises and multicolor drawings and embellishments. The text block has been trimmed during binding and there is some damage to individual pages from acidic iron gall ink. Several exercises have been signed by John Thorne and the multicolor embellishments and initial letters on many of the pages are quite detailed and colorful.
Condition: Bound in half calf with marbled boards.
