Scope/Content: Manuscript. In English with some Latin and German.
Scope/Content: Collection of theological manuscripts from the library of William Law, written in many different hands. Manuscripts appear to perhaps contain some work of Law's as well as works by others, such as John Pordage, in addition to anonymous or uncredited authors. Some works, such as a diary and extracted meditations in the first volume, predate Law's birth, most most others appear to be roughly contemporary.
Condition: Bound in 18th or 19th century hald blue morocco with marbled boards.

Volume 1 front paste-down endpaper: bookplate of John Haddon Hindley (1765-1827) , bookplate of John Lee (1783-1866) with autograph notation "J. Lee. Doctors Commons, purchased of Messrs Howell & Stewart from the Librayr of J.H. Hindley Esq. Repaired in London." Volume 1 front free endpaper: "Bought by G.C.P. of Messrs. Bull & Auvache, August 2 90" likely in the hand of George C. Pearson of Canterbury (d. 1894) and, in the hand of Bernard Holland (1856-1926), "Bernard H. Holland, Harbledown Lodge, Canterbury, 1894, from Rev. George C. Pearson's library (GCP died Sept. 1894)." Spines of all 12 volumes with shelfmark "MS 129, " likely from Holland's library.
