Description
Scope/Content: Extensive contemporary underscoring, marks, and annotations throughout in the hand of William Yelverton (alternating between italic and secretary scripts). Annotations index key terms and concepts in the printed text while also occasionally offering commentary. An annotation on f. 6r references Machiavelli. f. 19v and f. 21v have Latin manuscript annotations in a different (but contemporary) hand referencing facing pages (perhaps binder's notes?).
Scope/Content: Armorial book-plate of William Fuller Maitland. Ownership inscription on title page: "This booke perteyneth to W. Yeluerton." Title page also contains multiple ownership autographs of William Yelverton and a single autograph of "Caterine Yelverton." Manuscript note "Reade" in upper margin of title page, which also contains several pen trials.
