Description
Scope/Content: Manuscript annotations in printed book.
Scope/Content: Manuscript annotations written by antiquary Henry Gough in his 1709 copy of Peter Heylyn's Help to English history. Annotations include updates to the lineages reported by Heylyn as well as longer textual notes and hand coloring on crests. A printing history of Heylyn's work is written on several pages at the beginning of the text. Gough's annotations are in a very legible but small, neat hand; there are other annotations in largely, possibly older hands, likely those by Richard Farmer, as indicated in Gough's preliminary notes on the pages preceding the printed title page.
