Scope/Content: Manuscript. Several pages cut out after leaf 55. Bound in full vellum.
Scope/Content: Mathematical exercise book in a calligraphic hand written by Thomas Dalrymple in 1726-1727, demonstrating a variety of practical applications for arithmetic. Pages are decorated with calligraphic embellishments and flourishes and with some color drawings unrelated to the text. An alphabetical table following the exercises was apparently used in conjunction with the volume's later use as an account book by another party.
