Description
Scope/Content: Manuscript. Some pencil and ink annotations to sermons in Headley's hand on blank leaves and at the end of texts; dates of delivery listed at the end of the sermon on Psalm 63.
Scope/Content: Manuscript volume containing 4 sermons, 3 poetical epitaphs and several short prayers written by Rev. Henry Headley of Irstead, Norfolk in the 1760s and 1770s. Sermons cover passages from Ecclesiastes, Psalm 63 and Philippians. Poetical epitaphs on two women of his parish are pasted in the volume on its first page. Headley was the father of poet and scholar Henry Headley (1765-1788).
Condition: Bound in half calf with marbled boards and endpapers.
