Description
Scope/Content: Manuscript. Many pages numbered but not always in sequence; most pages ruled.
Scope/Content: Manuscript notebook of notes and texts for sermons delivered between 1648-1665 in various locations, including Ansley, Snitterfield, Sleaford and Compton Holloway, England. It appears that most if not all of the notes belong to minister Charles Gibbes, who was ejected from his post at Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire in 1647. The notes are written very closely and it is clear that the sermons therein were delivered and reworked multiple times.
Condition: Bound in full brown morocco with 1646 blind stamped on cover and sprinkled edges; defective spine; housed in modern tan cloth box.
