The volume is probably in the hand of a scribe, copying from original sworn statements. Most of these certifications were signed and witnessed by Charles Powlett, the Duke of Winchester and the Queen's Chamberlain, but various other members of the Queen's household, such as gentleman usher Henry Bulstrode and avener Anthony Rowe, are also represented. Edward Clarke was the Queen's auditor general from 1690-1694, but the role of Richard Musgrave in Queen Mary's household is unknown.
