Description: Scope/Content: Manuscript. Loose and curled pages.
Scope/Content: Manuscript notebook containing mostly mathematical exercises, but also folk remedies and religious works. There are several different hands throughout the volume, but it appears that the majority of it may have been written by "Cuthb. Cokson" who inscribed many pages with his name and the date 1736. Other Cockson family names appear, as does the name of Alexander Gray. Most of the text is concerned with arithmetic, mensuration, the compass, dialing, geometry and trigonometry.
