Description
Scope/Content: Manuscript abstracts of legal documents related to lands owned in Soham, the "ffen Lands," Wimpole, Arrington, Orwell, and other places in Cambridgeshire, dated by month and regnal year, stretching from the reigns of Edward III to Charles II, with the latest date being 1667. The compiler was likely Thomas Chicheley himself or someone in his employ. The text is written throughout in a neat and consistent scribal hand, writing in a mixed secretary/italic script.
Condition: Contemporary limp vellum binding, with vestige of leather cords.
