Description
Scope/Content: Manuscript. Some leaves repaired with minimal losses of text.
Scope/Content: Manuscript cookery book compiled by Margrett Greene around 1701. Many different hands contributed recipes and medical remedies to this volume, and Greene used several pages from a 1676 commonplace book begun by "T. Norton" on which to write her index to the recipes collected. Most recipes are unattributed and undated, though one is dated December 5, 1712, and there are several attributed to "Lady Wreckley," "Mrs. Tolbut' and "Dr. Wagstaff."
Condition: Bound in modern brown calf.
