Scope/Content: Manuscript. On front paste-down endpaper in 19th century hand: "NB. 31 lines and 12 words in a line falls short of the print."
Scope/Content: Very fine copy manuscript of The book of the gospel and regeneration by religious sect leader James Birch. Previously attributed to William Law, this volume contains Birch's work as published, with very few alterations. Though there are transcription errors throughout the text, they have been very neatly cancelled and certain words are calligraphically embellished. A table of contents preceeds the main text. Several pages have been completely excised at the back of the volume, presumably at an early date.
