Scope/Content: Manuscript commonplace book dating from the mid-18th century containing poetry, prose and riddles written in several hands. Some, if not all, work appears to be original compositions, making reference to current events in the social lives of the author(s), while other items include an epitaph on Alexander Pope and Isaac Watts hymns. A couple of poems make reference to Eardley, which is possibly the Eardley in Audley parish, Staffordshire.
