Description
Scope/Content: Manuscript. Many laid in and loose pages. Pro Patria watermark visible on most pages.
Scope/Content: Manuscript cookery book written in many different hands, but apparently belonging to a member of the Cross family, as various Cross family names including Richard, Ann and Thomas Cross appear throughout the volume. Many pages are laid into the volume and contain recipes contributed by different individuals. One laid in sheet at p. [xx] appears to have been written in the late 19th century, and suggests that this volume was used long after its original composition around 1724-1740.
Condition: Bound in vellum with traces of writing, over boards.
