Scope/Content: Manuscript annotations in printed book.
Scope/Content: Manuscript annotations by an unknown contemporary reader in a copy of Ascham's Scholemaster from 1573. Annotations consist of textual notes, markings, manicules and underlines throughout the text, written in a contemporary hand. On the verso of the colophon are pen trials of a presentation inscription. There is also a pencil note in a 20th century hand on the front paste-down endpaper about the dedication to Lord Burleigh.
Condition: Bound in 20th century mottled calf.
