The Jeffersons is an African American sitcom that ran from 1975 to 1985. Isabel Sanford was an African American stage, film, and television actress and comedian best known for her role as Louise "Weezy" Mills-Jefferson on the sitcoms "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons". Sherman Alexander Hemsley was an African American comic actor best known for his role as George Jefferson on the series "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons," Deacon Ernest Frye on "Amen," and B.P.
