Description
Portrait photograph of Allen Azen, who was imprisoned on a charge of forgery. Azen had struck his head during a jail boxing match, after which he claimed to know himself as Morris Laborwitz, a prosperous insurance salesman from Baltimore. Correspondence from his mother claimed that her son was ill when he went missing in March 1924.
