Description
Dr. W. C. Bagley and Dr. Henry Lester Smith shake hands at a meeting at the Biltmore Hotel (506 S. Grand Ave.). Bagley was professor of education at Teachers College, Columbia University (1917-1940). Smith was the dean of education at Indiana University (1916-1946). At the meeting, Bagley was elected president of the national council, a role that Dr. Henry Lester Smith previously held. Photo appears with the article "N.E.A. Council Ends Session: Survey Presented by Susan Dorsey on Pupils' Ability in Business Arouses Interest," Los Angeles Times, 28 Jun. 1931: A1.
