Description
Ida Louise Jackson was the first African American teacher in Oakland Public Schools. She earned her Master's Degree from UC Berkeley (1925) --- where she founded the Rho chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first African American sorority at Berkeley -- and her doctorate from Columbia University.
