Gilbert Allen was a music composer, arranger, a choral director, and an entertainment producer who had a large base of support in the Los Angeles area. He graduated from Jefferson High School, and obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of California Los Angeles. He was the head of the music department at Samuel Houston College in Austin, Texas. The Gilbert Allen Singers of Los Angeles was a singing group comprised of young boys and girls who sang at public and private events.
