Central Avenue is a major north-south thoroughfare in the central portion of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. From approximately 1920 to 1955, Central Avenue was the heart of the African-American community in Los Angeles, with active rhythm and blues and jazz music scenes. Large group of about 100 African Americans at the Largo Theater waiting in line to see a movie. The Largo theater was located at 1827 E. 103rd Street, Los Angeles.
