Della Williams was a leader in black women's organizations and the wife of architect Paul Revere Williams. She co-founded the Wilfandel Club, the first black women's social club in Los Angeles to have its own building. Williams also sat on the board of the Assistance League of the Stovall Home, and was a charter member of Los Angeles Links. Paul Williams was an African American architect who designed almost 2,000 homes in the Los Angeles area. He worked for wealthy celebrity clients, but also designed affordable homes, public housing, and civic, commercial, and institutional buildings. His works exhibit elegant composition and perfect proportion. The Wilfandel Club was established in 1945 by Della Williams and Fannie Williams. The Wilfandel Club’s goal has been to promote civic betterment, philanthropic endeavors, and general culture. The Wilfandel Club is the oldest African-American women's club in Los Angeles.
