Description
Ernest F. Bishop autographs a copy of his romance novel "Knights of the Saddle" for Gloria Smith, a court clerk, at a Los Angeles courthouse. Bishop's day job was as a bailiff at a Los Angeles courthouse. Photo appears with the article, "Court Bailiff Author, Too: Writing Romances Foil of Routine," Los Angeles Times, 27 May 1931: 21.
